Rochester Central Lutheran School

Title: Enrollment & Communication Director, 2017- 2022

Communication goal: Direct all marketing and communication efforts to drive and maintain enrollment.

Key competencies & responsibilities:

  • Strategy & branding | Brand revision/sharpening; Rebranding for internal programs; Annual communication plan

  • Content marketing & digital communication | Website revision with a focus on branded language and images; Google Analytics monitoring; Blog posts & video promos; Social media management; Monthly digital newsletter; Weekly all-school email communications

Rochester Downtown Alliance

Title: Communication Consultant, Independent Contractor, April-July 2024

Communication goal: Revise website––restructure & rewrite content and update images––to be more attractive and user-friendly, thereby bringing site visitors to action in visiting one of downtown’s restaurants or retail shops

Key competencies & responsibilities:

  • Digital marketing | reorganize website pages and content to minimize extraneous clicks for website visitors, write copy & create SEO optimized images, work in content management system

  • Copywriting & editing | created new copy and updated old for website

  • Collaboration | synthesize stakeholder input to code updates with CMS product consultant

Salt & Light Partners, Heart for Heroes Gala

Title: Communication Consultant, Independent Contractor, Dec 2022-Mar 2023 & Jan-March 2024

Communication goal:

Year 1 | raise awareness about organization, promote and produce inaugural Heart for Heroes Gala with the intention that it would become a major source of funding

Year 2 | grow attendance to 500 and increase monies raised, widen awareness and brand recognition

Key competencies & responsibilities:

  • Event planning | plan event from conception to follow up, recruit volunteers

  • Executive writing & editing | copywrite Executive Director’s printed welcome &, oversee stage script and schedule

  • Development strategy & communication | work collaboratively to place event in broader picture of fundraising, solicit major donors, develop night-of appeal strategy

  • Content marketing & digital communication | create all digital collateral for social media and website, copywrite all event communications
